The world «Vestige» can be defined such as: « What is left of something that disappeared or has been distroyed » « Remains more or less recognisable of monuments or human activity » « What is left of something abstract » This vase collection is made out of bricks gathered in the hills around Marseille. Initially, these industrial fragments were selected for their formal aspect. In a second phase, in order to reassert their value and give a place to an abandoned object, the bricks’ fonction was twisted. The glazing and modelling processes, ceramic’s traditional methods, allowed the bricks to become waterproof and we offered a new function by adding a modelled clay base. Each vase is a unique earthware piece, signed and glazed at 980°. The project was initiated during a residency at La Réserve des Arts in Marseille and has been presented at the Gewerbe Museum in Winthertur, Okro Gallery in Chur, Gallery Collective in la Cité radieuse, the French institut in Bratislava, Zurich design week, Dutch Design Week, Galerie Zemma in Marseille and is part of the permanent collection of the Princesshof museum in Netherlands.
