Profile Lamp

In collaboration with Zurich based designer Tizian Naterop, Profile Lamp was desiged and made in a limited 1st edition. The profile lamp consists of a floor lamp and a table lamp made of upright glass cylinder diffusers that are illuminated by an externally mounted LED strip. The design and construction is reduced to the clear function of the luminaire and its components. All components are standardised profiles - the glass cylinder, the H-profile and the electronics. This means that high-quality components can be manufactured, processed and assembled locally, irrespective of quantities. The touch-free infrared dimmer integrates the (operating) person into the action and lets them experience and control the light in a playful way.The idea of the profile lamp was to focus on the light and to give the material a greater depth (or additional dimension) through the play of reflections and the projection of light. The play of light is created by the many reflections of the raw diodes in the glass profile; the special light projection is created by the refraction of light and the subtle imperfection of the organic material glass, which is processed by hand.  The result is a harmony of technology, physics and craftsmanship. https://tabeawschiansky.com/Profile-Lamp
