Dialogue between an Octopus and a Juicer
This exploration of the collection, as surprising as it is unconventional, makes it possible to experience the mudac's collection in its entirety for the first time, as contemporary design objects, glass art, ceramics, graphic art and jewellery can be seen here together.
In the daring exhibition design inspired by the theme of the labyrinth, the various exhibits are juxtaposed on the basis of their formal, informal or even curious affinities. The passage opens up the wide field of possibilities and unexpected encounters, crossings and transitions between the artistic disciplines. Walking through the exhibition - from Mai-Thu Perret's ceramic octopus to Philippe Starck's citrus press, Sylvie Godel's embroidered porcelain works to Toots Zynsky's glass thread bowl - everyone is free to make their very own connections among the works and to look at each one individually.
Internationally renowned artists stand side by side with up-and-coming talents in this show, with which the mudac spotlights a broad panorama of the world of contemporary design and applied arts for the first time in its new building on Plateforme 10. The exhibition will be the subject of a rich programme of events, educational offers and museum materials for our various visitor groups - such as, in particular, an audio guide and a children's book - throughout its duration.
